Since the age of 4, sitting at the piano has been a place of comfort, relaxation and expression for Australian pianist and composer Melany Thompson. Classically trained as a child, Melany had the honour pf performing at the famous Sydney Opera House at the age of 12, and started creating her own original music soon after. Only in recent years has she taken her passion to the next level by recording and sharing her music with the world. Described as ‘hauntingly beautiful’, her emotive compositions have gained over 7 million streams and are written from the heart, to help inspire the mind and provide a peaceful space for deep reflection.

Her debut solo piano album ‘Memories of Home’ was released in 2019 and was nominated for SoloPiano.com‘s 2019 Classical Album of the Year. Since then Melany has released music with several independent record labels both at home and abroad and her instrumental compositions have recently been heard in TV shows across Australia and the US. Melany is a Whisperings Solo Piano artist and her music can be heard on One World Music radio and across all digital music streaming platforms.

Melany hopes to inspire her two children through music – “I want my kids to grow up knowing they don’t have to wait for permission or for someone to tell them they are good enough before they follow their dreams.”
